Hello, All! I’m Melanie and I have a few creative hobbies that I’ve tried to explore off and on for the past few years – paper quilling, kumihimo, zentangle art, playing the kalimba, friendship bracelets, and amigurumi. But of course life gets super busy, free time becomes a scarcity and things inevitably fall to the wayside. I haven’t really given myself the opportunity in the past to pursue improving my craft in any of those different disciplines. Well, the time has come. I’m coming to terms with the fact that the timing may never be perfect and I may never be as ready as I’d like to be, but at some point I’ve just got to get started somewhere and see where things go!
I’ve dabbled here and there with Zentangle art over the past few years but I know I have much further to go towards developing the kind of line quality I’ve admired from a few inspirational Zentangle artists. I think Inktober Tangles 2026 and drawing every day for the month of October is the perfect opportunity to start the journey towards improving my skills with this craft.
